download.ans · install, terminals and the command lineOne line installs the binary for macOS or Linux, Intel or Arm. Then run it in your terminal.
Install
$ curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jondot/acidtrip/main/install.sh | sh $ acidtrip logo.ans
It puts acidtrip in /usr/local/bin, or ~/.local/bin when that isn't writable. The binaries are also on the releases page, signed with cosign. To build from source you need Rust:
$ cargo install --git https://github.com/jondot/acidtrip acidtripFor the TheDraw fonts (about 1,200 font files, around 3,700 fonts), run this once:
$ acidtrip fonts getTerminals
Anything with truecolor and mouse input: iTerm2, kitty, WezTerm, Ghostty, Alacritty, or Terminal.app with fewer key combinations. Terminals that report exact mouse pixels (kitty, WezTerm, Ghostty, xterm) let the smart pen follow the pointer inside a cell.
Files and config
acidtrip paths shows where things live. Set ACIDTRIP_HOME to keep everything in one directory. The config is created with comments on first run. docs/keymaps-config.ans has the details.
